Life Legacy
Dennis Frederick Barenz, 63, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away May 31, 2012
He was born August 9, 1948 in Osage, Iowa the son of Clinton and Fern (Streich) Barenz.
He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a barber in Iowa Falls Iowa for a period of time. He then became an Iowa Highway Patrol pilot and dispatcher for many years. He then became a postal carrier in his sleepy little Iowa hometown of Osage for many years. But that wasn't good enough for him and he went back to school and became a paramedic as a 2nd profession. He retired from the post office a few years ago and moved Brenton and him to Fort Myers Florida. He was currently active with the United States Coast Guard Auxillary and was so proud of this accomplishment.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother, Fern, 2 children, Brenton and Nicole, his grandaughter Alana, sister Jan and partner Patty Morris of Las Vegas, brother James and wife Michiyo and daughter Jennifer of Osage, Iowa. His family also includes, Merlyn and Sue Thorson of St. Ansgar Iowa and their children, and Jerry and Kay Thorson of Waverly Iowa and their children.

A special thank you to all of his loving friends in Fort Myers and Osage, Iowa, who are standing by our family through this very emotional time. A very special thank you to Pam and Dennis Friskey, as I could not have done this without you.
He is preceeded in passing by his father Clinton, and brother Thomas.
