Dan Patterson

Dan was born on October 7, 1963 in Ventura, California to Alfred Patterson and Betty Jaffray. The first years of his life he lived in Michigan and then moved to Kissimmee, Florida. He also lived his teen years in Bartow, Florida. In 1986, he moved to Fort Myers, Florida. His father, “Ace”, taught him how to be a carpenter. He spent most of his adult life building homes. In 2001, he did all the framing and truss work on Jackie (wife) and his home. Dan was able to accomplish one of his dreams by becoming a superintendent. Dan loved to travel with his family. He was able to travel to Arizona, California, Hawaii, Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Lake Tahoe, and so many more places especially over the last 15 years. He loved old, new and southern rock music. His favorite of them all was AC/DC. He was always excited about his initials and his youngest sons initials spelling AC/DC. He prided himself on his skills of shooting pool. He loved to play golf. However, riding his Harley was his passion. He’ll be riding his bike in Heaven forever now. Above everything else, Dan loved his two sons, Daniel (24) and Austin (4). He loved going fishing with them and simply spending time with them. He helped both boys play baseball, football, soccer and many other types of sports. Austin and daddy loved to build things with their Legos. They also played what they called fight, fight, fight. He was so excited when our first grandbaby was born. Our sons were his pride and joy. He loved the years of coaching Daniels Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football teams. He was loved by all the boys and still today they call him coach. Dan has always been the love of my life and always will be. We have been married 20 years and I will treasure everyday for the rest of my life. He was loved by all that knew him. He will be missed everyday by everyone. He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Jackie. His sons Daniel (Jelly) and Austin Patterson. His grandson Dailyn Patterson (3 months old). His Parents James (Eva) Ammons and Wanda Patterson. Cousins: Robin, Jimbo, Jeff, Raymond and Rusty Breisinger and their families, and Jammie Breisinger and AJ Breisinger. His nephews: Kyle Gabor, Dillon Gabor, Craig Patterson, Shane Patterson, Dean Allen, Nieces, Haley Gabor, Jaimie Patterson, Nichole Patterson, Crystal Patterson, Jennifer Patterson, Amanda Patterson, Chelsey Patterson Brothers Dean, Rick, Craig, and Ace Patterson and Perry Herring Sister Vonnie Kay Patterson and all their families. Brother in law Mike (Tracey) Gabor and Joe (Megan) Gabor Oldest son’s mom and one of Dan and Jackie’s best friends: Charlene Patterson Daniel’s (oldest son) sister and brother and very dear to us: Haley and Marcus Craig Best Friends: Mark and Amanda Hatcher, Courtney Smith Gerald and Sharyn Mcdermott, Chris and Terri Keppel, Kara Patterson, Kim Graves-Peddycoart The whole Pop Warner football team that Dan coached. (James Humberger) The whole Little League team that Dan coached. (Nelson Tubens) Predeceased by Dad, Alfred Patterson, Mom, Betty Ammons, Aunt Phyllis Breisinger, brother, Craig Patterson, Jim Patterson and Paul Herring. He has many more cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that I can’t name them all. Please remember Juvenile Diabetes Foundation the next time you want to donate to a charity because Dan fought this terrible disease all of his life. Now you can rest pain free and in peace always Dan. Visitations will be held Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 6-8 pm and Friday, February 25, 2011 from 9-11 with a service at 11:00 am at Anderson-Patterson Cremation & Funeral Services chapel, Lehigh Acres. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Park.
