Deborah Ann Fipps

It is with great sadness that the passing of Deborah Ann Hope Fipps 'Debi' is being announced. She left her earthly body to be reunited with her loved ones on the other side on October 20, 2024 in Sarasota, FL. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend who taught everyone she knew about how to be fair and live life with a generous spirit. Her welcoming and open-minded attitude accepted people from all walks of life and led her to a path in education. She raised three children and was always supportive in all endeavors her children were involved in including softball, baseball, concert and marching band and she never missed a ballgame or band competition. When her children reached middle school ages Debi returned to college and received a degree in education. This degree allowed her to share the importance of fairness and helped her be a beacon of hope to children of all backgrounds. She believed in lifting up children who needed kind gentle guidance to navigate through this world as she taught them the fundamentals of doing what is right. She was an educator who took on the challenges of teaching and guiding even the most difficult children. She had a way of understanding different personalities and found ways to make a positive impact on these young minds. Her impact at Gocio Elementary school was a pivotal role in her life and the lives of many children in our community. Many times, when she would be shopping or at a restaurant her previous students would stop and say hello to her and remind her that the path she chose in life was one that truly helped people. She never wavered in the face of adversity and always stood for what was right. Her role as a wife, mother and friend was always steadfast and she allowed people to be themselves while she would remind them of the importance of doing the right thing even if it was the more difficult decision. She was dedicated to her family and friends and was always willing to sacrifice her time to be a listening ear and provide help and loving advice. Her many friends at Gocio Linda, Yaritza, Kelli, Angela, Tamara, Julie, April, Laura, Jessica, Gayle, Ruth and Karen. Debi knew she could always depend on her friends and vice versa. Debi is survived by her children Charity, Ashley and wife Jenn, Stephany and husband Travis and grandson Nathiah. Her sister Barb, husband Joe and two children Josie and Jimmy still reside in Indiana. She was predeceased by her husband and soul mate Kevin, her parents James and Ethel Hope among many other family members including her cousin Connie, her aunt Margaret, her grandparents, several dear friends, and many loving family pets. Her last moments at home were spent resting as she peacefully passed on to meet our father who she desperately missed since his passing in 2009. She will be dearly missed... until we all meet her on the other side! Debi's celebration of life will be announced soon.
