Jeffrey Anthony Reidy

Jeffrey Anthony Reidy, 41, of Estero Florida passed away Thursday February 18, 2021 at 11:50am after being involved in an off duty motor vehicle accident. He was born to James P. Reidy and Kathryn M. Marrale/Reidy on August 4, 1979 at 7:22am in Plantation Florida. He was raised in Lantana Florida where he met his wife Jennifer D. Reidy. They were married on March 1, 2003 and have four children Gavin P. Reidy (19), Rylin M. Reidy (16), Emma C. Reidy (7) and Charlie P. Reidy (5). He is preceded in death by his grandfather James J. Reidy. Jeff would be described as a proud, personable, smart and handsome husband, father, son and friend by all who knew him. He was selfless and patient, always trying to make others laugh or smile. He worked many careers to provide for his family but his proudest career accomplishment was becoming a police officer. He began his career January 18, 2011 with Naples Police Department. He was dedicated and always eager to learn and do more within the department. He was a D.A.R.E. instructor, field training officer, DUI instructor, high liability traffic stops instructor, a detective in criminal investigations specializing in special victim crimes and domestic violence, a master officer and most recently promoted to sergeant in 2019. He was so proud to be an officer and to protect and serve the city of Naples. He was also a proud husband and father, he always spoke about his wife and children and his favorite dog (Oliver James Reidy). He was looking forward to the graduation on his son from mechanic school this year, also to the graduation of his oldest daughter from high school next year where he bragged about all the “bling” she would get to wear from all her accomplishments during school. Emma and Charlie are going to miss “daddy’s funny jokes” because daddy was their favorite super hero and the strongest man they knew. His favorite activities included trips to Universal Studios to visit Harry Potter and drink butterbeer, hiking or camping with family or friends, fishing, and the annual family trip to “fall down the mountain together” while attempting to snowboard in North Carolina. In what little free time he had he enjoyed building items requested by his wife for their dream home he was so proud to purchase two years prior. He was best friend to many, always there to offer support and sarcasm as needed and never turning anyone away. His family will miss his sarcastic humor, impersonations, random leg punches to ensure great reflexes, ability to cover two theme parks multiple times in a day while running from end to end because the line was shorter on the other side of the park, how well he would brush off the fact that his wife constantly put clothes on inside out, his amazing voice and love for music and of course his selfless demeanor and compassion for everyone. He left way to soon but he left the best memories behind, his family and friends will miss him immensely but proud of the new wings he’s gained.
