Michael Anthony Pascale

Michael A. Pascale, Sr., 96 passed away peacefully on June 13, 2020 in Fort Myers, Florida. Michael was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on June 22, 1923, the son of the late Gaetano and Pasqualina Pascale. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his sisters, Marie Bedner and Jeanette Detisch; his brothers,Louis, Gaetano, and Peter Pascale; and his former wife and mother of his children, Libra Pascale. He is survived by his four children, Chris Condo (Joe) of Vienna, VA, Elaine Pascale of San Francisco, CA, his son Michael A. Pascle, Jr. (Kathy) of Rockville, MD; and Valerie Petracco (John) of Fort Myers, FL, his grandchildren, Christine Condo, Andrea Kendall (Chris), Natalie Catliota (Conor), Ellen Pascale, Kevin Pascale, John (JJ) Petracco, and Gina Petracco; his great grand-daughter; Kira Kendall; and many nieces and nephews. Michael proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps near the end of World War II. His humble working career started as a toolmaker at Erie Forge & Steel in the late 1950's. After engaging in various occupations, including proprietor of a neighborhood store and soda fountain, Michael entered the field of investments and finance, first affiliating with Investors Diversified Services, and then joining the investment firm of Waddell & Reed, beginning as a sales representative and rising to the level of regional manager. In 1973 he joined Merrill Lynch in Fort Myers as a financial advisor and enjoyed a successful career with Merrill Lynch and a series of other brokerage firms until his retirement in 2008. Following his retirement he devoted countless hours volunteering at Ronald McDonald House, Health Park Hospital, and Hope Hospice. Michael will be lovingly remembered for his deep devotion to his family, his generosity, his boundless energy, dedication and integrity he brought to his dealings with his clients. He loved to laugh and to make people laugh. Michael was an expert at working with his hands, and could fix anything, from a squeaky cabinet hinge to a car engine and everything in between. He also enjoyed woodworking and making crafts from shells he collected while living on Fort Myers Beach, and cherished gifting those designs to his family and friends. Michael's family would like to express a very special thank you to all at Cypress Point Senior Living in Fort Myers for their love and compassion these past few years as well as the staff at Gulf Coast Medical Center, also in Fort Myers for their compassionate care. The family welcomes all to join the funeral mass televised through St. Jude the Apostle Church on Saturday June 20th at 11:00 a m EST, officiated by his godson Fr. John Detisch of Erie, PA.
