Dena Kay O'Neill Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dena Kay O'Neill, 41, resident of Lehigh Acres, Florida, but native of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her bedside on July 15, 2022. Dena was a survivor of cervical cancer in 2021. Born with strawberry blonde hair, Dena was a firecracker from the moment she walked. Her energy and dedication was contagious and gave her the strength to fight for what she believed in and pursue opportunities that interested her without backing down. With a passion for business, Dena owned and operated her own vape shop in Russell Springs, KY for 8 years until she followed her dream to southwest Florida. It was there that God comforted her while she bravely battled stomach cancer until she was greeted and carried home to heaven by 4 special angels; finally re-united with her big brother. Dena is survived by her husband, Patrick O'Neill, mother, Kay (Withers) Silliman, and grandmother, Shirley Brewer, along with several aunts and uncles: Brenda (Withers) Brewer, Charlene (Withers) & William Perkins, Chad & Teresa Withers, Jamie Brewer, Kevin Brewer, Kerry & Sandy Brewer, and Kelly & Dawn Brewer. Also survived by other relatives, lots of cousins and friends, her best friend, Shella Harms, and her adorable pup, Bailey. In-laws include: Bob & Noreen O'Neill, Mike O'Neill & Patty Pozo, Jenny & Danny Calistro, and Colleen & Brian Gorski. Dena is preceded in death by her only brother, Dannie Phelps II, father, Dannie Robert Phelps Sr., 2 uncles, Lukey Phelps and Clint Withers, and 4 grandparents, Ernest & Yvonne Withers, Bernie Brewer, and Leo Phelps. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dena's honor to the American Cancer Society. Plans for a memorial service will be communicated at a later date.
