Dexter Arnold Hawkins Jr

August 20, 1944 - October 8, 2021

Dexter A. Hawkins, Jr. age 77, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday October 8, 2021. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana to Dexter and Leona Hawkins. Dexter loved the Lord with his whole heart and soul. He devoted many years of his life to teaching children and adults about Jesus. He was an Associate Pastor in Cape Coral at 1st Baptist Church and New Hope. The past 14 years, he and Ruthanne worshipped at Northside Baptist Church and Dexter was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He is survived by his wife, Ruthanne, his children Eric (Kim) Justin, Emma and Chance, Shane and his daughter, Brielle. Dexter was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Michelle Marie, and all 5 of his siblings, he was the last of the children in his family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held October 23rd at Northside Baptist Church, 8250 Littleton Rd. North Fort Myers at 11:00 AM. His burial will take place at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery. Donations can be made in Dexter's name to Northside Baptist Church.
