Foster Ray Goshorn

Foster Ray Goshorn, 83, of North Port, Florida passed away Sunday January 30, 2022 in his home surrounded by his sons and daughters. He was born on April 3, 1938 in Latonia, KY to the late Foster Floyd and Dorothy (Mershon) Goshorn. He's been a North Port resident since 2002 after living in several states. Foster served in the Army before working construction and managing multiple concrete plants across the country. Foster's interests included Cars (Drag Racing), Radio Controlled Airplanes (Building/Flying) and especially fishing. Over the years he became a freshwater fishing guide and worked boat shows for an underwater sonar company. He fell in love with Southwest Florida's saltwater fishing after moving here. Many friends were made over the years in his various hobbies. Husband of Sandy (Eckman) Goshorn (Deceased Feb 3, 2022), survived by Sisters Betty Detherage and Carol Ann Gaylor, Maryann Graham (Deceased). Foster leaves behind sons Doug and Mark (Michele) Goshorn, daughters Susanne (Glen Hollowell) and Julie Burress (Jason). Adoring grandfather of (10), Luke Goshorn (Alicia), Leanne Nixon (Brandon), Annah Shrader (RyojI Ono), Paul Joseph (Amber) Goshorn, Samantha Mills, Brittany Mills, Danielle Nelson (Ben), Alex Goshorn (Tiffany), Stephanie Reichardt (Jacob) and Miranda Corbett. Great grandfather to (8), Blake Goshorn, Allison Goshorn, Kayleigh Goshorn, Dillan Goshorn, Eastyn Goshorn, Silas Goshorn, Leo Nelson and Oliver Alan Goshorn. Graveside service will be at Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Rd 42, Sarasota, FL, February 18, 2022 at 10:30 am.
