James Louis Barron

October 22, 1946 - January 9, 2022

James “Jim” Louis Barron went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 9, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margie Barron of North Fort Myers, Florida, daughters Tonia Koehn (spouse Toxey Koehn) of Independence, Louisiana and Tammy Fiedler (spouse Kelli Fiedler) of Fort Myers, Florida, grandson Christopher Rohner of Lafayette, Louisiana, great-granddaughter Charlee Layne Rohner of Lafayette Louisiana, sister Essia Howell of Tarrytown, Georgia, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, JT Barron, his mother, Ruth Barron, his sister, Vera Cambron, and his brother, Maryland Barron. Jim was born on October 22, 1946, in McComb, Mississippi. He served as a Marine in Vietnam as a Corporal before marrying his soulmate and starting a family in Louisiana. Most of his career was spent as a manager for TG&Y and McCrory’s. He took a lot of pride in his work, and always treated his employees with respect, and they always respected him. He spent several years as a volunteer fireman for the Amite, Louisiana Fire Department, as a Jaycee, and was a member of the Amite City Chamber of Commerce and Friends of the Library in Amite, Louisiana before moving to Florida. Throughout his life, Jim was a Christian whose relationship with the Lord continued to grow. He enjoyed doing things with his church family whenever he could. He enjoyed hunting with his friends when he lived in Louisiana, and he enjoyed fishing whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed bowling and bingo. His kindness and consideration of others is something that could be felt by anyone who knew him. He will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to consider donating to Semper Fi Fund, The Multiple Myeloma Foundation or The American Cancer Society. Service date and time will be updated as the information becomes available.
