Sander Blecman

Sander "Sandy" Blecman, 92 of Venice, FL passed unexpectedly on January 18, 2022. Born August 13, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland to Israel and Anna Blecman, Sandy was the middle of three sons. He served in the Army as a PFC in the Data Processing Unit during the Korean conflict. Upon separation, he worked for Maryland Casualty Insurance Company while attending Law School at the University of Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Law, but chose to pursue a career in the burgeoning field of Computer Science. Sandy was employed by RCA for 25 years. His career continued as a Systems Analyst with various banks, installing financial software throughout the US as well overseas. Retiring to Florida in 1989, he took up bowling, golf, international travel and cruising. He was a master at jigsaw puzzles, the more difficult the better! He enjoyed staying fit at the Venice Y going three times a week into his 90s until COVID, sharing stories with his group of gym buddies after their workout. Sandy is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Sis, his 3 children Deb, Sue and Marc, 3 grandchildren, his brother Howard, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents and his older brother, Marvin. Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, The American Heart Association, or the Jewish Congregation of Venice.
