It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Pac, who departed this world on December 31, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on July 8, 1939, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Joan was a beacon of love, kindness, and unwavering loyalty for all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was the cherished daughter of John and Anne Beaudry and was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sister, Susan Johnson, her stepson Ronnie Pac, and her former husband, Wayne Johnson. Joan's journey through life was marked by her devotion to family and friends. She was married to her true love, Ronald Pac, for 48 beautiful years, creating a bond that became an inspiration for many. Joan and Wayne Johnson, the father of her three sons and a daughter, shared a 16-year marriage, maintaining a respectful and caring relationship long after their separation. Joan's family was her pride and joy, and she embraced her role as a wife, mother and grandmother with open arms and a full heart. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Pac; her brother Richard Beaudry and his wife Rania; her sons Bruce Johnson and his partner Mary Lou, Scott Johnson and his wife Gina, and Paul Johnson; her bonus son Jeremiah Johnson and his wife Danielle; her daughters Mary Shallbetter and her husband John, and Cheryl Maymon and her husband Bill, as well as her treasured grandchildren Benn, Kate, Madeline, Taryn, Bonnie, Camden, Jackson, Bailey, Alana, Lauren, Ryan, Julia, Darlene, Averi, Ansley, and Conor – all of who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Tanner, Shane, and Hazel, who brought immense joy to her later years. Joan's life was enriched with education and career. She attended nursing school before deciding to focus on her family. For over 20 years, she managed various Friendly's restaurants in New England, where she was known for her vivacious personality and strong work ethic. Upon retirement, she moved to Florida, where she continued to contribute her skills in bookkeeping at her daughter's company, CAM Realty, until the age of 81. Joan was an active member of her community, belonging to the Punta Gorda Woman's Club for the past two years, where she forged new friendships and continued to make a difference. Her hobbies were diverse; she had a passion for travel, exploring both land and sea. Joan and Ron owned an RV to traverse the States and later enjoyed boating during their years in Florida. She also found joy in ceramics, knitting, and most recently, pottery, a pursuit she shared with her granddaughter Taryn in their Saturday morning classes. Joan’s most valued traits were her loyalty and integrity. She was fiercely devoted to her loved ones and extended her kindness and warmth to everyone she met. Her honesty and incredible integrity were admired by all, making her a true friend and confidante. Joan always had time to lend an ear, offering her support and love unconditionally. A celebration of Joan’s life will be held on January 24, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the Life Celebration Center, located at 1515 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Florida, whose compassionate care provided Joan with peace in her final hours. Joan Pac leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and familial bonds that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who loved her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the profound impact she made in our lives. Rest in peace, dear Joan; you will be deeply missed.
