Lauria Patrice Wheeler

Lauria Patrice Wheeler, age 24, of Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Detroit, Michigan passed away suddenly on Monday, April 15, 2013. The life journey of Lauria Patrice Wheeler began on December 23, 1988 in Southfield, Michigan to Linda Pearl McLin and Donald Wheeler. Lauria was a “Daddy’s Girl” and her father preceded her in death. Lauria attended Southfield Lathrup High School in Michigan and graduated in 2006. Following high school, she enrolled at Baker College of Allen Park, Michigan where she received a scholarship. Shortly thereafter, Lauria left Michigan and migrated to South Florida in 2007. She immediately enrolled at Edison College where she chose to pursue a nursing degree. While there she enrolled also at the Manatee Technical University and received certification as a nursing assistant (CNA). She was excited at having been accepted to the nursing program at Hodges University and was registered to continue her studies this fall. Lauria began working at the Evans Healthcare of Fort Myers in the dietary department and later joined Citrus Gardens of Fort Myers as a CNA. While there she received recognition as “Employee of the Month”. Her most recent work at Sam’s Club is where she met many close friends. Lauria was a beautiful young woman, inside and out, who had a love for family that exceeded all. She was a mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, and cousin, all of which she was proud to be. She loved music, dancing, cooking, and being around friends she cared about. Her laughter, her smile, her generosity, her love and devotion to her son, her drive, her stubbornness (at times) and this list goes on… were all a part of her dynamic character. Lauria was quite a character (smile) always the life of the party. The greatest accomplishment that Lauria made in her short life was her decision to accept Christ at the Zion Hill Baptist Church of Fort Myers, Florida in 2009. As a member of the body of Christ, she made her transition from her earthly vessel to a spiritual being on April 15, 2013. Lauria leaves to cherish her sweet memories her loving Mother, Linda McLin; her Son Jonathan Douglas Semple, Jr., her Sister LaTosha Patrell Thomas (Danny), Sister Donelle Wheeler, her Brother Terrance Wheeler and her maternal Grandmother Ozzie Moseley and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be observed at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 3105 Douglas Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida 33916, (239) 332-1211. Pastor Benny McLeod will officiate the service.
